The St. Francis Cougars have struggled as the fall semester has wound down. That was reflected in the latest NAIA Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.
St. Francis had occupied the top spot in the poll, but have fallen 24 spots in this ranking, following four consecutive losses.
The Cougars (10-4) opened the year with 10 straight wins. The month of December has not been kind as the Cougars points per game have gone down and the team has lost tough games to tough opponents at home, on the road and on a neutral site.
St. Francis has lost to Crossroads League rivals No. 7 Grace and No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan, as well as Warner and (RV) Southeastern (Fla.).
The Cougars have a break in the schedule and next take to the court at home, hosting Holy Cross College on Dec. 28.
